Yellow Bicycle Catering

This site was constructed on a WordPress backbone for a Birmingham, AL catering company owned by successful restauranteur George Sarris of  The Fish Market. The focus was to translate their print menu into a web site that would showcase menu items, engage visitors, and take advantage of SEO and search engine traffic. Features of the site include an image gallery, slideshow, contact form, Google analytics integration, location-based information, social sharing, and email signup widget. This work was performed in conjunction with Reliable Ad Group.

LegacyofAnnieRose.com

Simple two page HTML site for reluctant author and tarantula fan Carolyn Swagerle. She wanted a very simple site to promote her book “The Legacy of Annie Rose” and receive email feedback from readers or other interested visitors.

It’s beautiful!  A perfect design! And you’re right. It’s what I wanted. Thank you so much for your help! Carolyn Swagerle

PlantationPorches.com

Client requested help to move their HTML site from YP.com to an independent hosting service. This involved communication with ATT to move the domain registration to the new host and editing all pages to remove  proprietary code and make the pages function on the new platform. I added a lightbox gallery/slideshow of the clients work and an email contact form.

OakMountainWomen.org

Built on WordPress using a premium theme, this site is designed to facilitate communication among and between the women of  Oak Mountain Church. I helped their editorial committee with the setup, design, and function of the site. After some training, the committee is now responsible for the content and upkeep. The site includes plugins for recommending books, editorial flow, photo stream, security, SEO and other standard functions.

Tour de Cure Christmas

I had the opportunity to help the Birmingham Tour de Cure committee with graphics to promote a social for volunteers and participants and an ad to run in the Birmingham Business Journal.

The color graphics were created to be used in print promotions, on the web, or  in email marketing. The print B&W ad had a companion color piece for use on the web or email.

Alabama has the highest incidence of diabetes in the nation. Tour de Cure Alabama offers routes from easy family rides of 5 miles or less to more challenging routes of 100 miles or more with several options in between. Cyclists at all levels of expertise enjoy this unique day of fun, fitness, new friendships and the personal satisfaction of completing a ride to support the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

I rode in 2010 and plan to ride again this year. It is a great experience! No matter which distance you choose you’ll be fully supported with route marshals, SAG vehicles, mechanical support, and rest stops stocked with hydration and a variety of snacks to keep you fueled. Register today to help fuel research and stop diabetes.

“Rustixs Interactive delivered multiple design ideas within a very tight timeline — of which all were used by our organization (the Alabama/Mississippi Chapter of the American Diabetes Association) to promote events and other promotions. I was impressed by how quickly Gayle grasped and displayed a strong understanding of our organization and our needs. She captured the elements and design we were looking for perfectly with very little direction on our part. Throughout the project we were given excellent care and guidance. Gayle was quick, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and professional. Rustix Interactive has helped us raise diabetes awareness in our community and raise the profile of our events with their excellent designs. I would highly recommend Rustixs Interactive to anyone!” Annah Grace Morgan, December 9, 2011

ST3Cycling.com

The goal of this site was to publicize the efforts of a local cycling team and engage others to help raise money and awareness for the Save the TaTa’s Foundation. The foundation is currently funding two researchers in their quest to find a cure for breast cancer.

Site was built on a WordPress foundation with plugins providing event calendar, donation, mailing list, ad serving, security, and photo gallery functionality. The goal was to put this site on a platform that the team members could easily learn (with a bit of training) and publish to regularly. [Account is no longer active. A club member is doing maintenance.]

CharlieSpear.com

I had the privilege of helping my high school art teacher with his online portfolio. He needed something that he could easily maintain and add new artwork to as he wished. A WordPress site was created with plugins to provide some automation with social media and other e-commerce sites where he sells his work. He wanted a very clean, minimalistic design with a homepage slideshow.

Unfortunately, Charlie let the hosting lapse and has not renewed it since.

“Gayle was a student of mine in art many years ago. She was on top of things then and still is now. She listens and tries to accommodate the needs of the client. I am very satisfied with her work and will continue to use her services in website design and enhancement.” Phillip Charles Spear, September 23, 2011
